BAD COP/BAD COP & Svetlanas (Report - Gala Hala, Ljubljana, 12.11.2025.)

Wednesday night, it was punk time in Ljubljana. As we came to GALA HALA I was surprised to see that there was not a big crowd of people in front, just a handful, mainly kids, but on the other hand - it made me happy. The fact that younger generations are  going to these kind of gigs leaves me in a belief that everything will be ok!

First one that night, opening for Bad Cop/Bad Cop were SVETLANAS, Italian trash core, punk rock band formed in Milan. They say about themself "We didn't start a band to be polite", well, that is true! Raw, unpolite, unforgiving, forceful. And so much more! This band sounds great and the lead vocal Olga is like a tsunami on meth! Give them a listen.

And after a short break it was time for the main thing that evening, BAD COP/BAD COP, punk rock band from California. Meanwhile, the crowd got bigger and older. By this time GALA HALA was nicely filled.

Those badass, beautiful, funny, unapologetic and "don't give a fuck" women took over Gala Hala like they own it. As it was "LIGHTEN UP" tour, it made sense to play new stuff from the album they are touring, and so they did! "Strugglinh", "All Together Now", "Straight Out of Detox", and then a bunch of older stuff like "Broken", "Breastless", "Victoria" and "Womananarchist", with layers of jokes, intimate confessions, political and social statements and strong standing point on today's most important women right - a right to legal and safe abortion! 

This gig was hot! In all the ways! I love love LOVE those women. And I love their music. For me this was one of those nights I will play in my head for a while...

This new album is absolutely perfect! I love every song on this one, and the more I listen to it, the more I love it! 

Can't wait to see them and hear them again, hopefully soon!
